Pop Music King 'Azam Khan' Laid to Rest!

Pop Star Azam Khan was laid to eternal rest on 'Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard Monday afternoon.

Azam Khan's mourning admirers, fans, well-wishers and relatives thronged the graveyard to pay an emotional farewell to the legendary singer, our correspondent covering the event reports from the spot. On the Sunday morning, The valiant freedom fighter breathed his last on Combined Military Hospital (C.M.H) in Dhaka losing a long battle with oral cancer.

At 2:40pm, by ambulance carrying his body, reached the graveyard Earlier. Azam Khan's first Namaz e Janaza was held on Azam Khan's Kamalapur residence on 8:30am. Followed by the second Namaz e Janaza at the 'Baitul Mukarram National Mosque' after Zohr prayers and the third one on the graveyard premises.

After the first janaza, Pop Khan’s body, wrapped by the national flag, was taken to the Central 'Shaheed Minar' at 9:45am. Thousand of her fans, relatives and well wishers paid homage to the man, who valiantly fought for the country in the 1971 Liberation War and later inspired millions with his unique music style.
